Additional Notes:
twpncdcsurfX1.00 is extracted from the global surface daily summary
data provided by the National Climatic Data Center(NCDC).
Over 8000 stations' data are typically included each month in
the daily summary data. twpncdcsurfX1.00 only covers stations for
the Tropical Western Pacific (TWP).
The dataset contains parameters of Daily Temperature, Dewpoint,
Sea Level Pressure, Visibility, Windspeed, Max windspeed, Gusts, and
precipitation.
The daily summary data is normally available about 1 month after the
the period the data covers and can be retrieved via
ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/globalsod/data.txt.Z
We have files covering 01/96-03/98. Beginning on 05/19/98, we are
planning to send out the one year's worth of backlog data per day
We will then send the data as received once per month.
