SGP GOES 8/GOES 12 Satellite Composite Images |
These false color images are generated by assigning the red, green and blue colors to three channels of a GOES 8/GOES 12 image - visible is red, mid-infrared (or water vapor channel) is green and thermal infrared is blue. The visible channel is represented as reflectivity [%] and increasing reflectivity is assigned increasing intensity in red. The infrared channels are given in Brightness Temperature [K] and decreasing temperature is assigned increasing intensity in green and blue.
Note: You may see more details of the Data Description, Temporal Coverage, Area Covered and so on about GOES from here.
